About Comfort Keepers Air

Comfort Keepers Inc. is a customer focused heating and air-conditioning company that was founded in started in 2001 by Larry Penar and Ted Bieze. In addition to his hands-on experience, Larry Penar is a professor who teaches HVAC at Oakton Community College and College of Lake County. Ted Bieze has had more than 30 years’ experience with virtually any HVAC system you can imagine, such as air conditioners, boilers, furnaces and air quality products for both commercial and residential. As you might imagine, when Larry and Ted hire a new HVAC tech, they really have to know their stuff; our reputation and your comfort is ultimately in the hands of everyone who carries out our high level of service.

What We Mean by Certified Contractor

When we started in business, we wanted to establish very strong guidelines for everyone in our company. To that objective, everyone at Comfort Keepers Inc. who calls on a home or business must be National Comfort Institute (NCI) Certified.  You should choose an NCI certified contractor for the same reason you would want a CPA to do your taxes or a bar certified lawyer to represent you in court! You want a professional.

An NCI certified contractor is thoroughly tested in air diagnostics and balancing; in carbon monoxide detection and combustion technology. NCI certified contractors have attended classes, used specialized equipment and are constantly up-to-date on the latest diagnostic and repair techniques in the HVAC field.

An NCI certified technician has passed a recognized testing process. NCI monitors their certified contractors and requires mandatory re-certification two years. That’s just the half of it! The other part is that Larry and Ted through experience and dedication to customer service expect each technician to be honest and ethical to a fault. We do not believe in short-cuts and there is no alternative to quality. We treat your home or business as if it were our home or business.
